Q How does MELD work?
Boy melds/likes Girl, Girl melds/likes Boy, and voilà! It's a match, and it's that simple.
Q Why do you need my LinkedIn Account details ?
Relax! WE WILL NEVER POST ANYTHING ON YOUR ACCOUNTS. We use LinkedIn to authenticate that you're indeed a professional.
Q Do I need both my Facebook and LinkedIn to create a MELD account?
Yes, MELD uses Facebook and LinkedIn data to review and create your MELD profile. MELD will NEVER post anything to your Facebook or your LinkedIn accounts.
Q How do I like a profile?
You like a profile by pressing the “MELD” button. If “likes” are mutual you will be matched. Scroll through profiles by pressing the “MELD” button or swiping up.
Q Can I message someone I haven’t matched up with?
No you can’t, only users who have indicated a mutual interest in one another are allowed to chat.
Q MELD says “Sorry, can’t find profiles based on my criteria”.
Try expanding your search criteria. Click the Home button and under “Melding Preferences” turn the “Search Anywhere” button ON.
Q I can’t log in.
Make sure you have the latest version of the MELD app and the latest Facebook app. Also please ensure that you give MELD permission to access your photos. Go to the phone settings, try logging out of Facebook and log back in. Also, make sure that the GPS (“location services") on your device is enabled.
Q I tried all the above and still can’t log in.
Make sure MELD has Facebook permissions. For iPhone users go to “Settings” on your phone. Scroll down till you see the Facebook App, click on it. Under “ALLOW THESE APPS TO USE MY ACCOUNT” (Note, if you don’t see this you might have to login), turn MELD ON.
Q My professional information has changed. How do I update this on MELD?
Update your profile on LinkedIn. After you have done this, please click on the refresh button under “My profile” in MELD. Your profile will be updated automatically.
Q Can I unblock someone?
No, blocking is a permanent action.
Q I can’t upload photos.
Please make sure your pictures are in a public album or at least visible to your friends (not you only) on Facebook. You can also try moving your photos to a different album on Facebook.
Q I lost my matches.
Try signing out and back in, as long as you haven’t accidentally deleted your account you should be fine! If only one or two of your matches disappeared, they either blocked you or they deleted their accounts.
Q The app keeps crashing.
Make sure you have the latest version of MELD. Try reinstalling the app.
Q MELD is stuck on “Searching for people based on your criteria”.
Make sure the GPS (or “location services") on your device is enabled. Also check your network connectivity. Make sure that you are connected through Wi-fi and/or your data plan is on
Q I don’t have any matches.
You need to allow time for people to like you back! You should try updating your photos it will go a long way. Keep on Melding!
Q How do I delete my account?
Go to app home, click “discontinue service”. Hope you’ll be back soon! Note: just deleting the app does not delete your account. If you couldn't find the answer to your problem here, please send an email to support@meld-app.com .
Q How do I become a Premium Member?
Currently there are very limited number of premium memberships available. To be wait-listed, please write to support@meld-app.com .
Q I am stuck at loading after putting in my LinkedIn Account.
This issue is associated with your LinkedIn Account Settings. To resolve this issue, please do the following:
  1. Log into your LinkedIn Account from your Desktop
  2. Go to "Privacy and Settings"
  3. Go to "Groups, Companies and Applications"
  4. Under Privacy Controls, Click "Yes" on "Turn on/off data sharing with 3rd Party Applications"
  5. Save Changes on LinkedIn
  6. Delete and re-install MELD on your phone
Q What are the star ratings based on?
The star ratings are based on MELD's proprietary Profile index algorithm.
